Bob Njegovan of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Health Science Centre In Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 70 years.

A Celebration of Life for Bob Njegovan will take place Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 163 Centre Street, Flin Flon, Manitoba with The Right Reverend James D. Njegovan and Father Paul Bringleson officiating.

Bogdan George Njegovan passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024.  Bob was born on May 28, 1954 in Flin Flon, Manitoba.  Bob lived in Flin Flon for the majority of his life.  After completing Grade 12, he moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree.  While attending the U of M, Bob was part of the university Judo Team. The following year he enrolled in the University of Brandon, where he earned his Teaching Diploma.

While attending Brandon University Bob met his wife Muriel.  The following summer, August 19, 1978 Bob and Muriel were married in Winnipeg.  In 1978, they moved back to Flin Flon where he worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting.  Their first child, Milica, was born in 1979.  In 1980, Bob attended Keewatin Community College where he completed a Mining Technology Diploma.  Their second child, Katarina, was born in 1981. They had their third child, Milan, in 1983.

Bob worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting for 35 years in various capacities as a miner, a shift boss and a mine planner.  Bob proudly served on the Mine Rescue Team for the company for 27 years.  Bob also enjoyed curling and playing hockey in the Old Timer’s League.  He was a member of the Flin Flon Legion for many years where he served as President and on the Executive for a time. 

During his life, Bob made many lifelong friends. Bob was part of the Flin Flon Community Choir where he and Muriel sang together for many years.  They performed in New York Carnegie Hall on two occasions.  Bob loved being part of the choir, it brought him much joy.

Bob is survived by his mother, Iris, his wife Muriel, his children Milica Wieler (Ryan), Katarina Njegovan (Norm), Milan Njegovan (Erin), as well as his grandchildren, Kane, Liana, Abigail, Scott, Kira, Lillijana, Dayenera, Chloe, and his great granddaughter Lydia.  Also his brothers, Mitch Njegovan (Kathy), and Jim Njegovan (Bernadette) and his sister Milena Hollet.  Bob also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed but the love he shared will always be remembered
