Courtney Kozak Obituary

Courtney Dawn Kozak was born on December 11, 1989 at Flin Flon, MB to Kurt and Judy Kozak of Creighton, SK, second of three daughters.  Courtney passed away unexpectedly in her home in Saskatoon on October 16, 2023 at the age of 33.

Courtney was more than a delight to everyone, always happy, giddy and the loudest of three daughters.  Through her school years, Courtney held an above average grade in Creighton School and was in the first grade 12 class to graduate from there in 2007.  Courtney enjoyed many sports, including figure skating, water skiing and snowboarding.  Courtney loved to fish and was a true northerner hauling her fish from the boat wearing her big rubber boots with a big smile on her face.  She enjoyed sledding as well, once moving a skidoo to the back of the yard with her furry leopard print housecoat on and her big rubber boots.  That moved turned into a few doughnuts in the yard, with her housecoat flapping around her and another big smile pasted on her face!  Courtney was also very artistic.  She did a drawing of Creighton School, which was included with all the diplomas of her graduating class.  We are blessed to cherish a few of her drawings at home.  Her artistic talent has definitely passed on to both her children.

After graduating, Courtney, with Cody Peever, gave birth to their beautiful baby boy Cashen.  Two years later came sweet baby girl Chloe.  Courtney loved them both tremendously; unfortunately, she started struggling in her life which pulled her further and further away from her children and family.

To Cash and Chloe, your momma told us that both of you are amazing, beautiful and unique and she was so proud of you.  She loved you more than anything in this universe, every minute of every day, and was grateful for your dad Cody and your grandma and grandpa Debbie and Pat Woods, who love and nurture you in her absence.  Forever more, your mom will hold your love tucked so warm and pure in her soul’s embrace.

Courtney is survived by her two children, Cashen and Chloe Peever, her father and mother Kurt and Judy Kozak, her sisters Jackie Bloomfield and Sarah Kozak, her grandmother Fern Kozak, her nieces and nephews Sydni Morissette, Rylee and Ryker Sproxton, Silver and Casey Alexander, as well numerous cousins aunts and uncles.

Courtney was predeceased by her loving grandfather Bill Kozak, grandfather and grandmother Willard and Mary Setter, uncle Barry Setter and cousins Christopher Signarowski and Jill and Michelle Faltreschi.

We will all miss you tenderly and dearly Courtney.  We will hold you in our hearts and thoughts forever more until we are together once again.

Show Courtney the way Lord, show her the light

Give her heart peace and hold her tight

Thank you for gathering her in your loving care

Thank you, dear Lord, for hearing our prayer
