Dwayne Burwash

Dwayne Burwash of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away peacefully January 8, 2024 at the age of 56 years. A private family service for Dwayne will be held at a later date.

Dwayne Burwash born March 29, 1967 in Langenburg SK. 

Dwayne is survived by his life partner Jo-Anne Kitchen. Daughter Lisa (Jon) Boyko, Stepson Joel Kitchen, Grandsons Abel and Declan.

Parents Raymond & Barbara Burwash. Carla (Mark) Wendling, Dean Burwash, Wanda (Brad) Rhude, Ashley (Stacey) Burwash and many nieces & nephews.

Growing up Dwayne’s family moved around to various mining towns including Flin Flon. They settled in the Swan Valley area untill Dwayne graduated from high school in 1987.  Dwayne excelled in athletics, he especially enjoyed hockey, baseball, football, swimming and fishing. There was no sport he wouldn’t try.

Dwayne proudly served in the Canadian Militia for a couple years in the late 80’s. After his service he moved to Flin Flon, then out west for a bit & ended back in Flin Flon in 1992 where he met his life partner Jo-Anne. Dwayne & Jo-Anne settled in Flin Flon where Dwayne drove truck for various trucking companies in the region. In 2012 Dwayne went to work for HBM&S where he finished his working career in Snow Lake.

Dwayne loved the outdoors, playing pool, fishing, boating & tubing. Dwayne’s greatest love though was spending time with his family. Family BBQ’s, playing cards, fishing or just getting on the floor & playing with the kids. Dwayne was always happiest when he was with family.

Dwayne’s memory will live on in the memory and the heart of his family and friends.
