Edward Gordon Wells (Gordy), of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away in Winnipeg on April 28, 2026 at the age of 77 years. He was on his way to the airport from the Grace Hospital.
Gordy was born May 22, 1948 in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Norman and Francis Wells. He was predeceased by his parents.
Gordy will be sadly missed by his brother David Wells and his wife Linda; his nephew Joel Wells (Angela); his niece Tracey Miles (Lee); his grand-nieces Tamika, Eden, Asia and Jael Wells; and his great-grand-nephew Kyrie Wells.
Before retiring, Gordy was employed in the Laundry Department at the Flin Flon General Hospital. In earlier years, Gordy loved going snowmobiling and spending time at the cabin boating and fishing. Later on, he enjoyed being a ham radio operator and talking to friends around the world.
Christmases for Gordy always meant a trip to Regina to spend time with his brother Dave and family, after stopping in Yorkton to visit his cousin Dennis Hughes and his wife Judy.
Gordy was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #73 in Flin Flon and moved into Legion Senior Housing in 2016. He loved spending time there socializing with his dear friends over many BINGO games and sharing special meals and events. The residents will always remember his joyful laugh echoing through the halls, as with his coffee buddies at the Chicken Chef.
Although Gordy did not have an easy life with his physical disabilities, he was never one to complain and would do anything he could for anyone at any time.
A Celebration of Gordy's life will be held in Flin Flon on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Flin Flon Royal Canadian Legion Hall.
