Graham was funny, smart, caring, talented, unfiltered and much more. Graham was passionate about hockey and wanted to make a difference in every player he coached. Once you met Graham, you never forgot him!

Graham was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 25, 1970 to Loraine and Lyle Garrett. When Graham was young, the family moved to Flin Flon where he grew up at Hanson Lake helping to run the fishing camp his grandfather started, and his dad ran. After high school, Graham moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba. In Winnipeg, he worked in schools as a teacher assistant for children with special needs. He started coaching AAA hockey first in the Monarchs zone and then the Hawks zone. He then moved to Cranberry Portage to be the director of hockey for the Frontier School Division. He returned to Flin Flon to work for the Bombers hockey club. After that, he went on to coach the Neepawa Natives in the MJHL. Later, he lived in Yorkton for 15 years where he worked as a substitute teacher and in corrections. He coached Midget AAA and Bantam AA, winning the Western Canada Bantam Championship. Graham also operated in the Northern Lights Hockey Program for five years, giving players in the North to experience high level hockey and the commitment required. Graham facilitated Coaches Clinics and Hockey Schools for Hockey Manitoba. He finally returned to live out at Hanson Lake to work with his brother Paul.
