Joyce McLennan

Joyce McLennan of Cranberry Portage, Manitoba passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home at the age of 74 years.

A Celebration of Life for Joyce McLennan will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 163 Centre Street, Flin Flon, Manitoba with Father Paul Bringleson officiating.

Joyce Gay Gaboury was born November 27, 1947 in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota to parents Hector and Irene Gaboury. After leaving Devil’s Lake, Joyce lived in many places throughout Manitoba.  Winnipeg, Dauphin, Churchill, Brandon, Carroll, Sundance, Gillam and Cranberry Portage.

Joyce married Terrance Dean McLennan on November 12, 1966. They had two children, son Kevin and daughter Heather. Along with raising their two children she kept busy working several different jobs in the different places they resided. She worked at the Archdiocese of Keewatin in The Pas, worked at Hyska’s Insurance in both Gillam and Churchill and was employed at the Bank of Montreal in both Brandon and Souris. Joyce retired in 2014.

Joyce was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church. She was also part of the Lion’s Club organization, the Legion and the Catholic Woman’s League. She really enjoyed being involved with the church and the community. Joyce also loved gardening, fishing and spending time with her family.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years Terry McLennan; son Kevin (Shauna) granddaughters Kelsey & Mackenzie; daughter Heather grandchildren Hope, Mikala & CJ; brother Dennis (Evelyn) & family; niece Wenda Petterson & family; nephew Brian Craig & family.

Joyce is predeceased by her father Hector; mother Irene Johnson; step father’s Evan McCormick & Sveinn Johnson; sister Denise Craig; niece Debbie Morton.
