Lyle Boyes Obituary

Lyle was a fighter from the start and throughout his life.  He was born at 4 pounds and struggled with asthma throughout his whole life.  He continued the fight and fought a long courageous battle with Co-vid at the end.

When he was 3 years old, he broke his leg while sliding on the hill at Willowvale Curling Rink with his dad.  He was in traction for 6 weeks in Saskatoon and had to learn how to walk again.  His Uncle Ray and Uncle Calvin fashioned a walker for him out of a stacking stool.

When Lyle got older, he enjoyed playing baseball.  He got into Taekwondo where he received several awards and the silver medal in the Provincial Games.

He loved to fish and really enjoyed his fishing trips with his Aunt Brenda and Adam at Pelican Narrows.

Lyle would go with his dad and brother Jerry, out the Hansen Lake Highway to gather wood. This may not have been one of Lyle’s favorite pass times as when his Dad would look up to see how things were going he would see Lyle coming down the trail kicking one log of wood at a time.

He spent many hours in the bay at his Grandma and Grandpa’s cabin at Beaver Lake.  He found solace fishing by his himself, he loved the outdoors.

Lyle enjoyed going on the road with his Uncle Ray and Uncle Ron in their semis.  The odd time he was even caught driving the semi, even though he might have been underage.

He started working at an early age, 15, at Alexander’s Auto Ranch.  He later worked at Pepsi for a short bit when he met Candice.  He told his one friend Pardo, “that’s the girl I am going to marry.”  He then went on to work at Frontier Metals.  It was here that he decided he wanted a career in welding.  Lyle later went to work for Forbes Brothers at Windbay, where he got his welding ticket.  He worked at Norther Bulk for a short while, after which he worked for M.A. Iron Works.  Later he went back to work for Forbes Brothers, this time in Winnipeg.  He was an amazing welder, so good his co-workers said he could weld wood.  He was a very good provider.

He was meticulous when working on his vehicles.  It started when he got first car, a mustang.  Too bad he wasn’t as meticulous with his bedroom, he used to leave all his clothes on the floor instead of putting them in the dresser, much to his mom’s dismay.

Lyle told her this way he at least knew where they all were.  His son Ethan is now the same way much to his mother’s dismay, like father like son.

He married Candice Neville on July 30, 2011, He has two children Sarah and Ethan.  Lyle came into Sarah’s life when she was 4 years old.  He took the role of dad and always made her feel she was his own.  He didn’t have a favorite, he disciplined them both the same.

He believed in talking things out with the kids to solve issues.  Lyle was a patient and good teacher showing Ethan how to work on all the motorized toys.

Lyle, Candice, Sarah, and Ethan spent a lot of time at Candice’s father’s cabin at Birch Lake; where they enjoyed fishing, swimming and quadding.  A favorite memory was the many New Year’s eves they would go riding on the razor, on the lake, shooting off fireworks.

When Lyle passed away, he had been sober for 14 years, something he was very proud of along with his family and friends.  His first, one and only tattoo was that of two hands grabbing a bull’s skull by the horns with his sobriety date on it.

While he was getting his tattoo Candice asked Lyle if he was ever going to get a tattoo with her name.  In true Lyle style his replied   “F no.”  Candice waited until his tattoo was finished and replied, “you probably don’t realize this, but you do have me tattooed on your back, I am a Taurus, the bull.”

Lyle had the best laugh; it was very contagious.  He had a large circle of friends.  Lyle was a quiet and sensitive person.  He was very loving and patient.

He will be lovingly missed but will live in our hearts forever.  We love you, Lyle.
