Saturday July 20th 2024 Lynda Pronger passed away at the Flin Flon General Hospital. Born June 12th 1949 in Portage la Prairie Manitoba, Lynda is predeceased by Her Parents Archie and Margaret Payne, sister Shirley Payne, and Brother, William Payne. Lynda’s Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the healthcare professionals and staff at the Flin Flon General Hospital for the wonderful care she has received. In particular a big thanks to the nursing team and everyone in the Dialysis unit for the extended care she received over the last few years.
Lynda along with her husband and father ran P&P Bakery in Snow Lake from 1976 until the late 90s. Throughout that time you could find Lynda usually at the bakery working, serving and drinking coffee and more pointedly discussing the recent events with all who wandered in. “Coffee” was not just a drink at the Bake shop, it was an EVENT. Following the close of the bakery “Coffee” was moved to the Diamond Willow Inn where she continued to enjoy daily visits with friends and family.
Lynda Pronger was a proud Snow Lake resident and champion for her community. She enjoyed the feel of Snow Lake and focused her efforts on making Snow Lake a better place. Lynda was a town councillor for a number of years in the 80’s and 90’s and was actively engaged in municipal governance and economic development pursuits for the Town of Snow Lake and the Nor-Man Region as a whole. A particular highlight was In 2004 she and her sister Shirley were invited to cut the ribbon on the grand opening of the Snow Lake Personal Care Home expansion.
A member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years and a frequent attendee at bingo and meat draws, Lynda enjoyed the excitement of a raffle, draw, lotto, or any game of chance. She was an optimist and always believed if there was a chance anything was possible.
