A come and go Celebration of Life for Ray Lavergne will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Rotary Wheel in Flin Flon. Please bring your lawn chair.
With heavy hearts we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ray
Lavergne passed away at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg with his wife and family by his
side at the age of 76 years.
Ray was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba to parents Albert Joseph (Joe) and Marie Louise
(nee Fournier) Lavergne. He had 2 loving sisters before him, Theresa and Annette. His fondest
memories were around camping, fishing, and hunting. Ray worked at HBMS from age 17 till
retirement. In 1971, he married Nancy Kuhl, and raised two sons Darcy, born in 1971, and Cory,
born in 1974. Ray was predeceased by parents Joe and Marie Lavergne, his wife Nancy in
2001, brother in law Hal, and sister Annette, and brother in law, Eddie just a week prior to his
Passing.
Ray is remembered by his family, wife Carol and sons, Darcy (wife Denise, granddaughters Max
(Seth), Brook, Taylor, Bryn, and Logan), and Cory (wife Carolyn, grandchildren Cadence and
Madden), step-sons Richard (wife Aimee, granddaughters Ally and Isabelle), and Ray (wife
Lindsay, grandchildren Kale, Nevada, and Blake), and a nephew and several nieces.
Ray will be remembered for his kind heart, big smile, and fishing stories. The family would like to
thank the doctors and nurses at HSC for their care, and all those who supported us as family.
We were touched by the messages, cards, gifts, and visits during and after Ray’s passing.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Ray’s memory. A
graveside service will be held on July 12, 2024 at 12 PM at Hillside Cemetery, followed by a
celebration of life at the Rotary Wheel from 1 to 4 PM. All are welcome
