Therese Claveau was a very special person to many people. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She passed away on Monday May 13, 2024 at the age of 89 years old, surrounded by family, at the Flin Flon personal care home.
She was born on January 30, 1935 and was the second oldest of 11 children. She took her role as an oldest sibling very seriously and played a big part in raising all of her brothers and sisters. It made perfect sense that after she met her beloved husband, Herve, and got married in 1967, she became a mother. There was nothing more important to her than family, and nothing made her feel more accomplished than being a mother and grandmother.
Therese moved from Quebec to Cranberry Portage in 1971 and lived a very busy life. She worked at Frontier Collegiate until she was 88 years old because she loved her job and most of all, loved to socialize. Her phones were put to good use with her constant chatting with family and friends. Gardening, fishing, curling, and bingo are just a few more of her favorite pastimes. You could often find her creating her delicious signature meals like sweet n sour ribs for her family, and then giving piggyback rides to her three granddaughters when they were little. You would know when Therese was around because her infectious laugh would fill the room.
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Reno and Pam Claveau; her granddaughters, Taleigh, Madeline, and Zoey; her four brothers and four sisters in Quebec and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
